The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level and work closely with senior management in supporting all employees. This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding / off boarding, policy implementation, recruitment / employment, and employment law compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Manage and support internal communications to ensure coordination of consistent and accurate messaging Maintain and update the employee handbook to ensure accuracy and timely distribution to employees Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations impacting human resource functions and ensure that policies and procedures are in compliance for US and Canada Manage and conduct recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, and temporary employees; conduct pre-interviewing, background checks, new-employee orientations; monitor career-pathing program; and write and post advertisements in US and Canada Creating onboarding plans and educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures and regulations. Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits and attendance records Identifying and clarifying employee issues and implementing solutions, including coaching and counseling Evaluating employee performance and appraising their pay scale accordingly Taking appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations and addressing employee grievances
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business or another related field Two year Management Experience preferred Knowledge of administrative tasks and responsibilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and payroll and human resources software Leadership and coaching skills Strong empathy and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills Attention to detail and analytically driven
